Cambo’s Commitment to Chesterfield County

It is with this same passion and commitment to public service that Cambo is seeking re-election as Sheriff of Chesterfield County. His love for Chesterfield County runs deep, and he remains focused on protecting the community he has always called home.

As Sheriff, Cambo has brought proven, honest, and ethical leadership to the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office, along with a strong record of building successful partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies. His leadership has strengthened public safety while improving the safety of both Sheriff's Office personnel and the citizens of Chesterfield County.

Many of these improvements have been made possible through partnerships and grant funding. Working together with state and federal partners, the Sheriff's Office has secured more than $4 million in state and federal funding, along with more than $1 million in annual grant awards to support public safety initiatives.

Sheriff Cambo is committed to building a safer, stronger future through transparency, accountability, and responsible leadership.

Leading with accountability: Maintaining an open-door approach where citizens and deputies have a voice, while ensuring transparency and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Creating a Citizens’ Advisory Committee to review use of force complaints.

Reducing gun crime: Implementing targeted strategies to address crimes involving firearms and improve public safety.

Investing in public safety infrastructure: Working with County Council and regional partners to develop and fund a new detention facility that better protects deputies, staff, and inmates.

Expanding crime prevention technology: Pursuing funding to install strategically placed Flock Safety cameras throughout the county to assist with crime prevention and investigations.

Supporting the Sheriff's Office: Exploring the creation of a nonprofit foundation to provide community-supported funding for critical needs beyond the county budget.
