A Chesterfield County Family Story
Cambo is the son of Jakie and Ethel Ann Laney Streater and one of five children, all born and raised in Chesterfield County. The Streater and Laney families have called Chesterfield County home for generations, serving the community as educators, business owners, and public servants.
A graduate of Cheraw High School, Cambo worked part-time in a textile mill, delivered newspapers, mowed lawns, and served as a lifeguard at Cheraw State Park before beginning his law enforcement career.
After being promoted and transferred by SLED to Columbia, Cambo and his wife, Caroline, a respected magistrate and certified mediator, raised their three children, Jamie, Hailey, and Jake.
Today, their family also includes grandchildren. Caroline is now part of the team that owns and operates Studio Well, a yoga and Pilates studio in Cheraw.
No matter where in South Carolina his law enforcement career has taken him, Chesterfield County has always been home and Cambo is honored to continue serving as Sheriff.
